MISSION: Health Improvement Foundation of Cameroon (HIF-CAM) is a non-governmental, nonprofit organization incorporated under Cameroon law in 2003. Its head office is located in Limbe, in the Southwest Region of Cameroon. The organization is committed to achieving the following mission: “Provide quality and affordable healthcare services to the rural communities deprived of access to healthcare services, aimed at saving and changing their lives”.

Programs & Services
The Training of Primary Health Workers
Owing to the acute shortage of health workers who will access healthcare services in rural, enclave communities, HIF-CAM trains primary healthcare workers (PHWs) for one year, to provide quality and affordable health services to rural communities in need. The Construction and Equipment of Rural Medical Centers
Owing to inaccessibility to quality healthcare services in the rural areas, HIF-CAM constructs, equips health units, and engages the services of qualified doctors, nurses, midwives, health and nutrition educators and health volunteers – to provide affordable and quality healthcare services to cases referred from rural health centers and primary healthcare posts. Medical centers are secondary levels of healthcare. Major services rendered there include:
· Surgical and Medical Services.
· Maternal and Child Health Services (MCH).

The Health Literacy Program
A majority of members of the lay public (locally and globally) lack the health
knowledge and skills of preventing diseases and promoting their health (to live a healthier, longer life). HIF-CAM empowers individuals, families and communities through: health and nutrition education and the health promotion newsletter. The Health Promotion Newsletter is a free monthly newsletter which will empower all its subscribers in promoting their health and that of their families.
